Give a Day, Get a Night: Sage Hospitality and CoCo Key Water Resorts Honor Volunteers with Free or Half-Price Rooms for Service
7/23/2009 - Waterbury, CT

-- In its ‘Give a Day, Get a Night’ campaign, Sage and CoCo Key rewards community outreach with free – or half-price – rates at properties nationwide --

July 22, 2009 (Waterbury) – Volunteering is a rewarding experience for those giving and getting the services provided. But Sage Hospitality, operators of CoCo Key Water Resorts across the country, have taken the reward a step further with its new “Give a Day, Get a Night” campaign. From now until Dec. 20, Holiday Inn Waterbury will honor community service with a half-price or possible complimentary stay at any of its hotels nationwide, including CoCo Key Water Resort hotel properties in Chicago, Boston and Waterbury. A full listing of Sage properties and booking information can be found at www.giveadaygetanight.com.

In the new campaign, Sage is championing community heroes for pro bono hours at charities such as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity or any 501c3 organization.  By simply supplying a letter on the charity’s letterhead proving they’ve done a full eight hours of service, guests can book at any of Sage’s 53 properties – from the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites to the Holiday Inn and CoCo Key Water Resort in Waterbury, CT – and receive a room at a half-price rate, or possibly for free, depending on availability. Water resort passes can be purchased separately for guests wanting to make it a tropical getaway.

“We have always been dedicated to community issues and outreach, whether it’s supporting local schools through our Best in Class program or encouraging employees to volunteer their time,” said Sage President and CEO Walter Isenberg. We are proud to spread that message and honor volunteers all over the country. We hope the ‘Give a Day, Get a Night’ promotion will not only reward our nation’s many selfless volunteers, but also encourage people to volunteer time for their favorite causes.”

Volunteering has long been a hallmark of Sage. The company has worked with charities such as the Make a Wish foundation and the Special Olympics, and recently launched Best in Class, a nationwide school partnership program that connects employees with at-risk and urban schools.

All 53 Sage Hospitality hotels will be participating in this campaign, with a limited number of complimentary rooms available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Blackout dates apply. To accommodate all of the volunteers who will want to take part in this program, each hotel will offer a limited number of complimentary stays over the July 1 – Dec. 20 dates. After those complimentary stays are filled, Sage will honor volunteers with rooms at a 50 percent discount.  Volunteer hours must be completed between July 1 and Dec. 18, 2009, and reservations are required 48 hours in advance.
