SAGE HOSPITALITY HONORS VOLUNTEERS WITH DRAMATICALLY DISCOUNTED ROOM NIGHTS FOR SERVICE

July 21, 2009 Danvers, MA – Volunteering is a rewarding experience for those giving and getting the services provided. But Sage Hospitality has taken the reward a step further with its new “Give a Day, Get a Night” campaign. From now until Dec. 20, the Sheraton Ferncroft, which is owned by Sage Hospitality, will honor community service with a half-price or possible complimentary stay at any of its hotels nationwide, including The Blackstone in Chicago and the Nines in Portland, Ore. In the new campaign, Sage is championing community heroes for pro bono hours at charities such as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity or any 501c3 organization. By simply supplying a letter on the charity’s letterhead proving they’ve done a full eight hours of service, guests can book at any of Sage’s 53 properties – including the Sheraton Ferncroft – and receive a room at a half-price rate, or possibly for free, depending on availability.
“We have always been dedicated to community issues and outreach, whether it’s supporting local schools through our Best in Class program or encouraging employees to volunteer their time,” said Sage President and CEO Walter Isenberg. We hope the ‘Give a Day, Get a Night’ promotion will not only reward our nation’s many selfless volunteers, but also encourage people to volunteer time for their favorite causes.”
Volunteering has long been a hallmark of Sage, working with charities such as the Make a Wish foundation and the Special Olympics. The Sheraton Ferncroft has also been active in Danvers charities through Sage’s Best in Class program, which pairs properties with a local school in need.
All 53 Sage Hospitality hotels will be participating in this campaign, with a limited number of complimentary rooms available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Blackout dates apply. To accommodate all of the volunteers who will want to take part in this program, each hotel will offer a limited number of complimentary stays over the July 1 – Dec. 20 dates. After those complimentary stays are filled, Sage will honor volunteers with rooms at a 50 percent discount. Volunteer hours must be completed between July 1 and Dec. 18, 2009, and reservations are required 48 hours in advance.
