CoCo Key Water Resort Ultimate Staycation Challenge
Gains National Recognition for Innovation and Creativity
NEW YORK (JUNE 10, 2009) — CoCo Key Water Resorts, a division of Sage Hospitality Resources received the prestigious Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Silver Anvil, which recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation, was presented during the Silver Anvil Awards Evening held June 4 in New York City.
CoCo Key Water Resorts received the 2009 Silver Anvil Award for the CoCo Key Ultimate Staycation Challenge campaign in the Marketing Hospitality category. In May/June 2008, as a fun and exciting way to celebrate the “staycation” experience, CoCo Key Water Resort launched the “CoCo Key Ultimate Staycation Challenge” where it encouraged consumers to submit an essay about their past “staycations” and why they needed to escape to a tropical paradise. The challenge increased awareness for the brand, in addition to bringing incremental revenue to the Water Resort properties.
“As usual, finalists in this year’s Silver Anvil Awards are among the very top public relations programs in our industry,” said James J. Roop, 2009 Silver Anvil Committee chair and president of Roop & Co., Cleveland, Ohio. “Long regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the public relations profession, the Silver Anvils recognize best practices in our field.”
The Silver Anvil Awards program has grown in scope and stature since its inception in 1946, and awards are now given in 59 categories and subcategories. To date, more than 1,200 organizations have received Silver Anvils for excellence in strategic public relations planning and implementation.
